A resistance to “normality” rules the drawings and sculptures of Jimbo Blachly. In his work hermit poets inhabit shrubbery, learned cave dwellers exhibit a knowledgeable taste for wine, and a persistent off the grid scholarly existence is on hand.
These are alternative lifestyles that embrace a rustic and bucolic subsistence. However Blachly’s works are not documents of the past but evidence of practices in the here and now, undetectable where median standards persist.
The exhibition will be open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, June 9th through July 1st. And by appointment.
