In the work of Colleen Quinn unfettered bursts of color, obsessive mark-making and an unruly expansion of lines, waves, curves and dots result in paintings simultaneously abstract, tropical and intergalactic.
Through the use of nontraditional materials, such as jellyroll pens, sharpies and nerf balls, Quinn creates a world of vibrant imagery - an alternative vision rich with geothermal eruptions and solar storms.
A native of Pittsfield, Colleen received her BFA from Umass/Amherst and her MFA from Suny/Albany. She teaches at Berkshire Community College, Suny/Albany and Pittsfield High School.
Exhibition Hours are on Saturdays and Sundays only from 12-5pm.
And by appointment.
Or through the window 24/7. |
